This time of year may be called the spooky season, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be some fun, kid-friendly Halloween activities going on this time of year. One place to find that in San Antonio, Texas is SeaWorld theme park. They have a great event called Halloween Spooktacular. You can find discounted admission for their Halloween Spooktacular here. You’ll save up to 45% on a single-day ticket!
SeaWorld San Antonio’s Halloween Spooktacular takes place on Thursdays through Sundays through October 31st, 2024 (otherwise known as Halloween!).
You’ll get to enjoy great animal experiences and rides like you normally do when you visit SeaWorld. But there are extra things planned just for the autumn that are a lot of fun that I want to tell you about. And then I’ll tell you how to save money on your ticket!
Halloween Costumes
I’ve always loved wearing a Halloween costume, no matter how old I get. So I am excited to tell you that all guests are welcome to dress up in costumes!
Please note, though, that costume masks and hoods are not allowed for safety purposes, and of course, all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. Also, you can’t have any face painting (unless it’s done in the park).
If you don’t have a costume yet, I recommend getting your costume here. I did this year and I really liked the high quality of the costume. It also fit me as an adult which was nice because sometimes costumes are marked as adult but they are really more for preteens. They have a great selection of Halloween costumes, too, and you’ll even be able to find lots of great costumes the whole family can enjoy if you want to coordinate family Halloween costumes.
Trick-Or-Treating
What is Halloween without trick-or-treating? SeaWorld San Antonio has multiple trick-or-treat stations set up throughout the Spooktacular section.
However, unlike with the costumes, there is an age restriction on this. This is only offered for guests ages 12 years old and younger.
This does however give you a very safe option if you are looking for a place to take your kids to trick-or-treat during the day.
You can also purchase reusable SeaWorld Trick-or-Treating bags at various shops throughout the park.
Sesame Street Halloween Parade
One of my favorite parts of SeaWorld Spooktacular would have to be the Sesame Street Halloween Parade. It’s a fun parade with all your favorite Sesame Street characters like Big Bird, Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Abby Cadabby, Rosita, etc. It’s fast-paced, has great music and dancing, and has really bright and colorful floats. It’s a lot of fun for kids and adults and is definitely a highlight of the event.
Dia de los Muertos
Halloween isn’t the only holiday during the fall season. In fact, a holiday that is perhaps more important to a lot of the great families around the South Texas area would have to Dia de los Muertos. This is a wonderful holiday where you can celebrate and honor your loved ones who have passed on.
I really love SeaWorld’s Day of the Dead tribute, too. It includes gorgeous alebrijes (Mexican folk art sculptures of mythical creatures) that line the pathway, traditional Mexican folk music, and, of course, sugar skull characters.
Spookley the Square Pumpkin Maze
Now is that time of year for corn mazes and pumpkins. So SeaWorld has combined the two with a pumpkin maze! You can try to make your way through the Spookley The Square Pumpkin Maze!
Discount Tickets
The Halloween Spooktacular event is included in the price of admission for SeaWorld San Antonio. You can find out how to get discounted SeaWorld tickets here.
