Looking for a great place to take your child this year during the Halloween season in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that is fun and family-friendly? Then you are going to love Idlewild’s HALLOWBOO!
HALLOWBOO is Idlewild Theme Park’s fall event. It takes place on Saturdays & Sundays, from September 23, 2023, through October 29, 2023. The event includes a lot of fun activities that I want to tell you about. And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on a ticket!
Trick-Or-Treat Trail
Looking for a safe place for your child to trick-or-treat this year? Well, kids can walk through the trick-or-treat trail through Story Book Forest, where they’ll get candy from all of their Story Book friends. All children ages 12 years old and younger can participate whether they have a costume or not. Treat bags are even provided if you don’t want to bring your own.

Haunted Hollow Train Ride
Loyalhanna Limited Rail Road will be transformed for the season into a spooky tour of the wooded landscape. As riders go deeper into the woods, they’ll encounter eerie scenes with skeletons, goblins, and other mysterious characters.
Confusion Hill Wacky Walk-through
Confusion Hill also gets transformed into a seasonal experience so now the optical illusion walk-through will become even more ominous.
Halloween Shows
There are multiple shows throughout the park, including Jack-O-Lantern Jive and Monster Mash. They take place daily at the event.
Delicious Fall Treats
There will be fall-themed food options available at Idlewild during this event. This includes specially flavored funnel cakes and even seasonal beer (for the adults, of course!).
Daniel Tiger Meet & Greets
Daniel Tiger & his neighborhood friends are available for a meet and greet during the event. You can also watch Daniel and Katerina in their show, Daniel Tiger’s Grrr-ific Day.
3-D Maze
Put on the special glasses and get a neon experience in their 3-D Maze in Jumpin’ Jungle.
Rides & Attractions
When you think of Idlewild you think of the great rides, right? Well, about thirty of fan-favorite rides will be available throughout the event. These rides are found in Olde Idlewild, Hootin’ Holler, Jumpin’ Jungle, Raccoon Lagoon, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. So you won’t get all rides (such as any ride in SoakZone or Wild Mouse) but there are plenty of rides to amuse you during the event.
