The Lunar New Year is based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Also known as Spring Festival or Chinese New Year, it began on January 22, 2023. The celebrations will continue for approximately 15 days.
2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, the fourth sign in the Chinese zodiac. It is believed that the animal ruling a person’s birth year influences their personality. People born in the Year of the Rabbit are believed to be courteous, witty, attentive to detail and quick thinking.
Avalon SpringFest
Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit at Avalon SpringFest on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 12 pm to 6 pm. This is happening at Town Park Avalon Park in Orlando.
The lion dance is a traditional part of Lunar New Year celebrations for bringing good luck in the new year. Students from the Wah Lum Temple will perform the lion dance as well as Kung Fu demonstrations at the SpringFest.
At SpringFest, you can enjoy Asian cultural performances, Asian foods and activities. You’ll also see folk dancing. Local vendors will be there to provide for a great shopping experience. This is a free family event and free parking is available.
Lunar New Year Shirt
