On May 5, people will be observing Cinco de Mayo, celebrating Mexican heritage and pride. This day is a commemoration of the 1862 Battle of Puebla in which the Mexican Army defeated the much larger French Army. The Mexican Army consisted of only 2,000 ill equipped soldiers. They defeated a French Army of 6,000 soldiers. This battle became a sign of triumph for Mexico’s resistance movement.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The Diamondbacks will be playing the San Diego Padres at Chase Field in Phoenix at 5:10 pm.
The D-backs will be celebrating Mexican history and culture with a pregame Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. This is considered a Special Event and as such requires a Special Event Ticket. Your Special Event Ticket will include a ticket to the 5/4/24 Diamondbacks vs. Padres game. You will also receive 1 Gabriel Moreno Gold Glove Bobble, presented by Casino Arizona. You’ll also have the ability to purchase specialty food items at a discount.
You will also receive drink samples provided by the Arizona Diamondback Partners. This Special Event is for fans 21+. You must have a valid photo ID.
