The hotel has had a long string of unexplained accidents, deaths, murders and suicides.
The Hollywood Tower
The Hollywood Tower is said to be the inspiration for Disney World’s Tower of Terror. And it is said to be haunted. Many people have reported seeing the apparition of a man standing on the 7th floor in 1930s clothing. He’s staring at the Hollywood Hills and then he just disappears. The Tower’s reputation includes mobsters throwing their enemies from the high floor windows, L.A. Mafia connections and murder for hire deals.
The Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel
Built in 1929, the Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel was home to many movie stars. Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio spent their honeymoon there. Elvis Presley lived in 1016 while he was filming “Love Me Tender.” Costume designer, Irene Lentz committed suicide by jumping from her 11th floor room window.
Today the Knickerbocker is a low rent apartment building for senior citizens. Many people have reported seeing a woman standing in one of the window sills in the building. Sometimes she just disappears. Other times she’ll jump and crash into the roof of the lobby and then she’ll disappear. There are also reports of apparitions of an English Setter and of the director, D.W. Griffith who lived in the hotel before his death from a stroke.
Fort Moore Pioneer Memorial
You’ll see the Fort Moore Pioneer Memorial and hear about the Lizard People and their city beneath it.
Avila Adobe
Built in 1818, Avila Adobe is Los Angeles’ oldest house. Longtime resident Christine Sterling died in the house and had her ashes spread in the garden. Many people have reported seeing an apparition of a woman in the garden.
The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
Many famous movie stars lived in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, including Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Marilyn Monroe lived in Suite 1200 and many people believe her spirit remains in the suite. So many people have reported looking into the mirror in that suite and seeing a sad blonde woman standing behind them. They recognize Marilyn but when they turn around she’s gone.
Reports of haunting range from the rooftop to sounds of people splashing in an empty swimming pool and throughout the hotel.
