What would a Venetian Masquerade Ball be like? The Carnival of Venice is world famous for its elaborate costumes and masks. If you want to find out, attend the 14th annual Venice Is Sinking Masquerade Ball in Seattle, Washington. It is coming to the House of Smith, Jet City Winery, Seattle on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 8 pm until 1 am.
There will be a wide array of performers and unique experiences throughout the night. Expect the unexpected. There will be a surprise around every corner.
The dress code is formal attire or a period piece costume. All attendees must wear a Masquerade mask over their eyes or have a mask painted on their face.
All tickets include
- 5 mini desserts from the Dessert Bar which will have chocolate truffles, petit four cakes, macarons, mini eclairs and some gluten free delicacies
- Italian Gelato
- A mini shot of one of the most popular Italian liqueurs, Limoncello
VIP tickets include
- Reserved seating in the Great Hall
- One bottle of House of Smith’s wine
- Tiramisu dessert
- An array of cured meats, cheeses, crackers, nuts and olives

Entertainment & Activities
KEXP DJ Darek Mazzone was the first Venice Is Sinking DJ 16 years ago. He’s famous for his World Music, Modern Globe show – Wo’ Pop. Wear your dancing shoes!
There will be Mini Fashion Shows by local designers during the evening. An array of these fashion designers will go on the catwalk and show off their fashion creations.
One local designer will have models wearing her period piece ball gowns. The models will also be wearing huge Marie Antoinette wigs.
Some of the designers will have pop-up shops at the Ball so you can see their creations and purchase them if you like.
Other entertainers at the Ball will include
- Unicycle performers
- 3 aerialists will perform during the evening with aerial silks, lyra, hoop and more.
- Stilt walkers
- Jared Burnett, an electric violinist
- Jamie Maschier, an accordion player
- Creme Fraiche will perform 3 titillating burlesque acts throughout the Ball.
- Raiz Brazil Seattle Dance Company will perform Samba dances in Brazilian Carnival costumes and feathers.
Scholdt Jewelry Designs will have a pop-up store at the Ball with beautiful jewelry available for purchase.
Atelier Madrona will have a pop-up shop. They’ve created two signature scents just for the Ball. You can buy one of these or you can mix and match various scents to create your own custom blend.
