Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those in the military who have died in service to our country.

In Salt Lake City, the Annual Memorial Day Program will be held on Monday, May 20, 2022, at 10 am at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

The program will begin with the Wreath Laying Ceremony and Flag Raising by the Salt Lake City Police Honor Guard. Then there will be guest speakers, Sterling Poulson and Jani Iwamoto.

Following the program, wandering bagpipers will provide entertainment. There will also be face painting and free hot dogs.

Get Funky Festival

You can kick the weekend off at the Get Funky Festival at Saltair on Friday, May 27, 2022. Fresh air and mad beats will filll the amphitheater. The doors open at 7 pm with the show beginning at 8 pm. Friday night’s lineup includes

Get Funky Festival returns Saturday night with a new lineup consisting of

There will be a live Electronic Concert at Hangar House in Salt Lake City on May 27, 2022, at 9 pm starring PICKLE, an EDM artist. He’s known for “Body Work,” “On The Drums.” Believe,” “Live, Laugh, Love,” “Wild West” and more.

Salt Lake Memorial Day Showdown

The Salt Lake Memorial Day Showdown is presented by Jam On It Basketball Academy. It will be held at Mountain American Expo Center on Monday 27 and 28, 2022. This is a basketball tournament for AAU basketball teams. Games will begin at 7:30 am and will go until 9 pm on both days.

Origin

Origin is a technical death heavy metal band from Topeka, Kansas. Music critics have praised their ability to combine a harsh sound with a high level of technical skill. Origin will be appearing at the Metro Music Hall in Salt Lake City on May 29, 2022, at 8 pm.

Joining Origin at the Metro Music Hall will be Abysmal Dawn, a death metal band from Los Angeles. They play an aggressive mix of modern death metal, blending the hooks and technicality of early 90s American death metal.

Also appearing will be Tombs, a heay metal band from Brooklyn. Their latest album is “Under Sullen Skies.”

Anthony Green, Laura Jane Grace & Tim Kasher

Anthony Green is a musician and singer from Pennsylvania. He’s the lead singer in Circa Survive and Saosin as well as having a solo career. His hits include “Avalon” and “Beautiful Things.”

Laura Jane Grace is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and activist and currently fronting the band Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers.

Tim Kasher is the frontman for Cursive and Good Life. The Nebraska born singer plays the guitar, accordion, organ, keyboard and other instruments.
