June is almost here, and that means it’s almost Pride Month.  And there are a lot of great events around San Diego, California celebrating Pride Month.  So we found some of the best pride events around San Diego.  We’ll tell you how to get tickets for these events.

1. Pride By The Beach

But you won’t need to purchase a ticket to this first event since it is free.  It is a community event brought to you by the North County LGBTQ Resource Center.

The 16th annual Pride by the Beach Street Festival takes place in Oceanside.  Last year’s festival had around 20,000 attendees, so it’s a big deal.  You can find out more information about Pride By The Beach here.

2. Drag Brunch – Drop It Like It’s Hot

Sisters of St. James Productions (SOSJP) presents Drop It Like It’s Hot Brunch at Mic Drop Comedy.  You’ll enjoy performances by some of San Diego’s hottest and most fabulous and fantastical drag performers.  You can buy a ticket for $8 off here.

3. Candlelight Pride: Celebrating Queer Musical Icons

Candlelight Pride: Celebrating Queer Musical Icons is a live, multi-sensory musical experience at the San Diego Central Library.  DIVISI Amp’d String Quartet will be performing a tentative schedule of the following songs:

  • Your Song – Elton John
  • Unholy – Sam Smith featuring Kim Petras
  • I’ll Cover You from Rent – Jonathan Larson
  • Prélude Op. 28, No. 15 in D-Flat Major “Raindrop” – Frédéric Chopin
  • Montero (Call Me By Your Name) – Lil Nas X
  • Thinkin Bout You – Frank Ocean
  • String Quartet in E-Flat Major: I. Adagio ma non troppo – Fanny Mendelssohn
  • Somewhere from West Side Story – Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim
  • Pynk – Janelle Monáe featuring Grimes
  • Adagio for Strings, Op. 11 – Samuel Barber
  • The Story – Brandi Carlisle
  • Losing My Mind from Follies – Stephen Sondheim
  • Swan Lake, Op. 20, Act IV: No. 29, Finale – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

4. Pride & Seek: Julian Fernandez

Dapper Punk Comedy presents the Pride and Seek Comedy Show.  It takes place on Thursday, Jun 22, 2023, at 7:30 PM.  It features a diverse cast of some of Southern California’s funniest LGBTQIA+ comedians.  You can save $8 on a ticket here.

5. San Diego Wave FC Pride Night

You can celebrate Pride Month alongside San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community by attending a San Diego Wave game.   Your hometown women’s professional soccer team will be holding its annual Pride Night match on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Snapdragon Stadium.  They’ll be playing the OL Reign.  Special edition Wave FC Pride merchandise will be available at the game for sale at Snapdragon Stadium.  Should be a fun night.  You can buy match tickets here.

6. Hillcrest Variety Pack

Kevi Kev & Pho King present the Hillcrest Variety Pack Cabaret and Drag Show at The Merrow on University Avenue in San Diego.  This is Hillcrest’s Most Diverse Variety Show.  You can purchase a ticket here.

7. Santee Pride Walk

Taking part in the Santee Pride Walk is a great way to show support for the LBGTQ+ community in Santee.  It is sponsored by the Santee United Methodist Church.

The Santee Pride Walk takes place on Jun 10, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  It is a two-mile walk going down Mission Gorge Rd from Magnolia to Cuyamaca.  Find out more information about the pride walk here.
