Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Holiday lights, the Christmas spirit, and amazing animals. What could make for a more perfect event?
Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to visit during the holiday season. It takes place after normal zoo hours.
Electric Safari is a wonderful holiday event for you to visit with your family, friends, a date or by yourself! There are a lot of great things to do during this event.
Christmas Lights
You can see over 85 holiday light sculptures on over 50 acres. It is a truly beautiful thing to witness.
Santa
What’s the Christmas season without Santa Claus? So luckily Santa will be in attendance at Safari Lodge in African Rift Valley! This is a great chance for you to get that perfect photo of your child (or you!) with Santa.
Animal Encounters
You’re not going to want to leave Cheyenne Mountain Zoo without seeing some animals, am I right?
There are multiple animal encounters available at the event:
- Hand-feed one of the giraffes at African Rift Valley
- Hold a specialty-crafted seed stick for one of the budgies at the Australia Walkabout
- Come face-to-face with one of the smaller animals at The Loft

Depending on which day you come, you can experience some great animal demonstrations.

- 6:30 PM: African Lion Keeper Talk at African Rift Valley
- 7:30 PM: Bird Show at The Loft

Friday
- 6:00 PM: Amur Tigers at Asian Highlands
- 7:00 PM: Skunks at The Loft
- 7:30 PM: Coatis at the Monkey Pavilion
Saturday
- 6:00 PM: Reptile Encounter at Scutes Family Gallery
- 7:00 PM: Bird Show at The Loft
- 7:30 PM: African Lion Keeper Talk at African Rift Valley
Sunday
- 6:00 PM: Moose Keeper Talk at Rocky Mountain Wild
- 7:00 PM: Mountain Lions at Rocky Mountain Wild
- 7:30 PM: Elephant Keeper Talk at Encounter Africa
