When I was a kid, I got The Polar Express from my aunt and uncle one Christmas. I loved the gift and read the book many times. It was (and still is) one of my favorite holiday stories.
So that is one of the reasons I am excited that ICE! Featuring The Polar Express is coming to the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. The other reason for my excitement? ICE! is back!
Yes, after a pandemic-caused hiatus, the popular Dallas area holiday tradition is back. It starts on November 11, 2022, and runs through January 1, 2023. You’ll be able to see holiday scenes created out of ice.
Expert artisans used two million pounds of colorful ice to create scenes from The Polar Express. It is a 17,000 square foot Immersive Walk-Through Experience. The scenes and sculpture are up to twenty to thirty feet in height. These larger-than-life sculptures will make you feel as though you’ve walked into the story. If anyone in your family has stopped believing, this experience might make them a believer again!
The walkthrough takes about 20 to 40 minutes. It is 9 Degrees Fahrenheit inside the experience, so you can wear one of their signature Blue Parkas while you walk through the attraction. This event also features amazing ice slides. So the event should be a lot of fun for guests of all ages.
