Character experiences are often some of the best and most memorable parts of a Disney World vacation. It’s definitely not something you’re going to get to enjoy at home.
Here at Green Vacation Deals, we’ve talked a lot about character meals at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. We’ve discussed Disney character dining tips as well as reviewed a number of our favorite Disney restaurants with character meals, like Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot and Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.
But today, we’re going to talk about a different way to interact with the Disney characters in the parks. And that’s with character meet and greets. Typically, you’ll wait in a line (aka a queue) to be able to have a photo opportunity and interaction with the character.
Right now, we’re going to talk about how you can find the Disney character meet and greet schedule in the My Disney Experience app! This is a great way to find out what characters you can meet in any given park – or how to find a specific favorite character.
Disney World My Disney Experience Character Finder
Here’s how you can use the My Disney Experience app to learn when you can meet your favorite Disney character.
- While inside the MDE app, press the Map icon at the bottom (it’s the second from the left).
2. Now, at the top in the middle, where it says Wait Times, press on the down arrow to open up a drop down menu.
3. In the drop down menu, select Characters (third from the top).
This brings up all the character meet and greets at the park on the map!
4. You can click on a character to see the specific times for that character.
5. And if you prefer using a list than a map, while you’re still on the map, select Show List in the upper right hand corner. You can then scroll through the list to find the character you want.
6. Finally, if you only want to see the characters in a specific park, you can do that, too. For example, suppose you’re visiting Animal Kingdom that day. You can filter for just Animal Kingdom by selecting the Filter option in the upper left hand corner, then selecting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and pressing the Apply button.
And you can practice along with the video tutorial!
Conclusion
It’s a good idea to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit to Disney World, so you know you’ll have the most up-to-date times and locations. And you can do this easily using the Map feature on the MDE app.
