My family and I absolutely love the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. We love trying all the delicious foods and drinks. We love trying as many different global marketplaces as possible, looking for new favorites.
And every now and then, we find an entire marketplace that we want to highlight. These are marketplaces with multiple great food and drink choices. They are a great choice if you are looking to have a meal or snack with your family and/or your friends because there are enough choices on the menu for everyone. And one of these marketplaces is Flavors from Fire.
Flavors from Fire is in the World Discovery section of Epcot towards the front of the park (not near the World Showcase). So why did my family like it so much? You’re about to find out!
Food
Let’s start with the food!
They have a great mix of foods on their menu:
- Chimichurri Marinated Skirt Steak Taco with Crushed Avocado, Queso Fresco, Grilled Corn Salsa, Pickled Red Onions & Cilantro-Lime Cream
- Smoked Corn Beef with Cheese Curds, Pickled Onions, House-made Potato Chips & Beer-Cheese Fondue
- The Impossible Burger Slider with Wasabi Cream & Spicy Asian Slaw on a Sesame Seed Bun
- Spiced Chocolate Tart with BBQ Potato Chip Crust, Smoked Sea Salt & Salted Whisky-Caramel
Our favorite would have to be the Smoked Corn Beef.
It was really good! All the tastes blended together so perfectly.
The taco was also excellent, too, so we wanted to give this dish a shout-out, too.
The only negative with this is that this is a very popular dish so when we ordered it, they were already backlogged with orders. So I think as a result of this, the meat was a bit overcooked.
However, that was the only complaint. The avocado was fresh and good. The taco shell was very good, too. It was very soft and the ingredients made the taco shell even softer.
Drinks
But food isn’t the only thing you can get at Flavors from Fire. This is, after all, Disney World’s Food and Wine Festival, right?
So it’s only natural they have a good mix of drinks as well:
- Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel from California
- Saugatuck Brewing Company Bonfire Beer from Douglas, Michigan
- Swine Brine featuring Jim Beam Bourbon
Well, the winner here has to go to the Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel.
When we were walking to the booth, you could smell this delightful aroma. You just hoped it would live up to the smell. And the good news here is that it did!
It was delicious. And while it was a little sweeter than one might expect Zinfandel to be, it was still delicious.
But I will give one more shoutout to a drink, and that would be the Saugatuck Brewing Company Bonfire Beer.
After the first sip, we weren’t sure we liked it. But with the second sip, it was better. And after the third sip, we realized we really liked it! So the time for the acquired taste of this beer can be measured in seconds.
