My family loves staying in Brunswick, Georgia. It is a great travel destination. Brunswick is a great home base for visiting the four barrier islands of the Golden Isles. My family also loves staying in Brunswick the night before we head to Orlando. It is a good midway point between where we live (Charlotte, North Carolina) and Orlando, Florida.
There are some great hotels in Brunswick. But one hotel that stands out would be Courtyard by Marriott Brunswick.
Today, I want to review different parts of the hotel. I will tell you the good (and the bad) of the hotel. And then I will tell you how you can save money on this hotel!
Room
I absolutely loved the room. First of all, it has a lot of room. I love how you can easily walk around your room. I love how there is enough space for your stuff.
Aside from the space, I really loved the beds. My room had two queen beds.
They were really comfortable and really helped us in having a great night sleep.
The free internet in the room was also surprisingly fast. Faster than my internet in my home. Hopefully, that is just an indication of how the internet was great here and not a bad sign for my internet at home!
One negative of the room, though, would be the refrigerator. It was way too small and I couldn’t fit everything I had brought in my cooler in the refrigerator. I was able to get ice and keep it in my cooler. But that really isn’t ideal. So keep that in mind if you are staying here.
Lobby
I really love the decor in the lobby. They have a really spacious lobby.
It has a really homey atmosphere. There are lots of comfortable seating. There are a lot of outlets nearby, too, so you can charge your equipment or plug in your computer while you are in the lobby. And they have books there you could sit and read, which I think is a really nice touch.
I also liked how when we visited this hotel in early November, it was decorated for the season.
Other Amenities
Courtyard by Marriott Brunswick has other great amenities, too. They have an outdoor pool and a fitness center. The fitness center is equipped with great equipment (like a treadmill and exercise bike), weights, a yoga ball, and mats.
You can take headphones for free here to listen to music or podcasts while you exercise, too.
You can also get free water at the fitness center.
There is also a firepit you can use when the weather gets cold.
Onsite Restaurant
I really liked the hotel’s onsite restaurant, The Bistro.
We ate there for breakfast. They have great tables where you can turn the television to any station you want – only your table will see the TV.
They had a great menu for breakfast foods. Some of these foods included:
- Bistro Breakfast Sandwich ($8)
- Balanced Breakfast Sandwich ($8)
- Classic or Vanilla Nut Oatmeal ($6)
- Classic Fruit & Yogurt Cup ($5.75)
- Fruit & Berry Cup ($4.75)
- Various Pastry Items
I had one of the various pastry items, a blueberry scone. It was really delicious.
You can also get dinner here. Here is the current menu:
- San Marzano Margherita Flatbread: $10
- Chicken & Bacon Quesadilla: $10
- Classic Chicken Wings & French Fries: $14.50
- The Bistro Burger & French Fries: $10
- Chicken Pot Pie: $10
- Little Gem Caesar Salad with Chicken: $10
- Little Gem Caesar Salad: $7
- Grilled Three-Cheese & Tomato Soup: $10
And if you are looking for just a snack or drink, you can always buy food at the onsite market. If you are thirsty, they have Pepsi products and even wine!
Location
I also really liked the location of this hotel. It is located right off I-95 at exit 38, so it is a really convenient hotel if you are staying there on the way to Florida. And it is close to a lot of good restaurants. My family really liked Toucan’s Ale House.
