If you live in the Vancouver, BC area and you’re planning your next vacation, you may not have a specific destination in mind. You know you don’t want to spend too much money, but how do you go about figuring out which places are affordable/aren’t affordable?
This is why Skyscanner is an absolutely wonderful tool that can help you when budgeting your next holiday. You’ll be able to see which destinations have the cheapest flights from Vancouver.
How does it work? Well, first, you’ll click here. You’ll see a box where you can fill out flight information:
As you can see, “Vancouver” is already filled out for “From”. Under “To”, leave this box blank. That way, you can see flight information for multiple cities. Change the “depart” and “return” dates to whatever dates you want to take your trip. Similarly, change “Cabin Class & Travellers” to however many people will be taking this trip. You’ll also see a box that says “Direct Flights Only”. You can check this box if you don’t want to have layovers, but I would advise against it from a purely money saving perspective because you can often save a lot of money by taking a flight with a layover (but if you really hate them and don’t mind paying more money, you can check the box off).
After you fill all of this out, you can press the button that says “Search Flights”. You’ll be able to see the cheapest flights to cities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, China, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Japan, etc. This is a wonderful way to see which cities would be affordable for you, and you may be able to find an awesome city to visit that you didn’t think was financially possible! So good luck, and I hope you have a great vacation!
