Fall is a wonderful time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains in Eastern Tennessee.  First of all, the leaves changing colors is beautiful.  And then there are a lot of fun activities that take place during the fall.  For example, you can enjoy the Harvest Festival at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  That is something my family has enjoyed.

But there are other great ways to enjoy the spooky season in the Great Smoky Mountains area.  And that is by visiting Wilderness at the Smokies!

Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville, Tennessee is a great resort to visit any time of the year.  They have beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains.  They have guest lodging options that range from cozy hotel rooms to spacious suites and cabins.

And then there is the waterpark!  Wilderness at the Smokies is home to the largest indoor waterpark in all of Tennessee, Wild WaterDome.  Wild WaterDome has water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and more.  And its see-through roof ensures it is weather proof!

Other fun activities at the resort include a bowling alley, a huge arcade, an interactive 3-D adventure ride game, rock climbing, a lazer maze, and more.

But right before Halloween, Wilderness at the Smokies gives you an extra reason to visit by adding Halloween fun to your stay.  I’ll tell you all you can enjoy during your stay here.  And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on your stay!

Trick or Treat Trail

Want to go away for Halloween but don’t want your kids disappointed they can’t trick-or-treat?  Not a problem when you visit Wilderness at the Smokies!

When you check-in to the resort, you’ll get a map of the Trick or Treat Trail for 2023.  Then the trick-or-treating takes place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Your kid can get dressed up in their Halloween costume and walk the Trick or Treat Trail.  There are ten different stops along the Trick or Treat Trail and they’ll get tasty treats and even small toys.  This is a nice, confined way for your child to enjoy trick-or-treating that can be much safer than trick-or-treating from door to door in a neighborhood at night.

And speaking of Halloween costumes, if you don’t have one yet, check out the Halloween costumes here.

Halloween Costume Contest

Also, speaking of Halloween costumes, Wilderness at the Smokies will be having a virtual Halloween costume this year.  Just post on Facebook or Instagram a photo of you or your family dressed in Halloween costume(s) at your favorite spot at Wilderness at the Smokies.  You’ll need to do this between October 24th and October 30th and tag @wildernesssmokies and add #wildernesssmokieshalloween2023 in your post.  The winner will be announced on Halloween and the winner will get a Wilderness at the Smokies gift card!  This is neat because that means you can participate even if your visit is before that week.

Monty’s Halloween Bash

Monty’s Halloween Bash is a fun Halloween party that takes place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023.  You’ll have the pleasure of joining Monty the Moose as well as the Activities Team of Wilderness at the Smokies in the River Lodge Conference room for some family-friendly fun. This includes dancing, refreshments, and crafts.

Coloring Contest

If you are arriving on October 27, 2023, or October 28, 2023, with children, they’ll be able to pick up a coloring contest sheet and crayons when you check in.  They can turn in their complete coloring contest entries no later than noon on Saturday, October 29, 2023, at the River Lodge Front Desk in the designated entry box.  Then on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, a winner will be selected – and they’ll be mailed a Wilderness gift card!

Wilderness at the Smokies Discount Rooms

Another great thing about visiting Wilderness at the Smokies during this time of the year is that you can your rates will be a lot cheaper than say if you visited over the summer.  In fact, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the hotel rates you’ll find here.
