La Crêperie de Paris is the newest place to eat in the World Showcase at Epcot in Walt Disney World. It’s located in the France pavilion and is inspired by the Brittany region of France. Our family recently had the pleasure of eating there. We want to share some of our experience and give you tips so that you can have a wonderful time at La Crêperie de Paris, too!
How it Works
There are actually 2 places you can order from:
- La Crêperie de Paris – this is the restaurant indoors
- Crêpes À Emporter – this is the quick service window outside
If you want to eat indoors, make sure you walk inside the restaurant. If you order from the window, then you can’t eat inside. You’ll have to eat outside and there aren’t a lot of tables there.
On the other hand, if you eat outside, you won’t have to bother with leaving a tip – so keep this in mind if you’re wanting to save some money and you don’t mind eating outdoors.
Either way, wherever you order (indoors or outdoors) is where you’ll also eat.
We wanted to get out of the heat and enjoy the full experience inside the restaurant, so we walked in and were quickly seated at a table.
Now, the reason we didn’t have to wait for a table is most likely because we arrived around 3:00 pm. This was our time slot for our Passholder Preview for the new ride at the France pavilion, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
There is not a lot of seating inside the restaurant, and as of right now, you cannot make a reservation – seating is first come, first serve. If you can, I recommend trying for more of an off-peak time to increase your chances for getting a table. As of right now, the menu is the same no matter what time of day you go, and the restaurant is open from when park the opens until an hour before the park closes.
Inside La Creperie de Paris
We loved the charming decor inside the restaurant! We especially enjoyed the pictures of France on the walls.
And even the bathroom kept up with the theming! It had a cute white and black brick-like pattern. (Keep in mind, though, that unlike most bathrooms at Disney World, it’s only for 1 person; so if you have several people in your group who need a bathroom break, make sure to stop somewhere before you get to the restaurant.)
The Menu & Food
Most of the menu consists of galettes (which are savory) and crêpes (which are sweet).
You can choose from the following:
- Galettes – Chèvre, Classique, Poulet, Ratatouille, Saumon, Savoyarde
- Crepes – Banane, Gourmande, Melba, Poire, Pomme
There’s also a choice of two appetizers: the Soupe du Jour (soup of the day) and the Salade Maison. And there are plenty of drinks, including French hard ciders and French wines that you can order by the glass or bottle.
For kids, there is a children’s menu that allows you to choose one of three galettes and one of three crepes.
Finally, there is a Prix Fix Menu, which consists of one appetizer, one galette, one crepe, and one beverage (a glass of hard cider, juice or soda).
There were three of us, and we decided to split the Prix Fix Menu. For our drink, we chose a Coca-Cola. Now, let’s go over what the food was like!
Soupe du Jour – Potato Leek Soup
The soup of the day when we visited was potato leek soup, which is one of my favorite soups. It was a simple and light soup… and it was delicious!
Classique Galette
Our choice of galette was the Classique, which includes ham, egg, and Swiss cheese. Unfortunately, we didn’t like the galette. The bread just didn’t taste that good. We are not big fans of buckwheat, though, so if you like buckwheat I am sure you’d like it more than we did. (Savory crepes in Brittany are called galettes and made with buckwheat flour. That’s why all of the galettes at La Crêperie de Paris are made with buckwheat flour imported from Brittany.) The eggs, ham, and swiss cheese were good, though.
Poire Crêpe
For our dessert crepe, we picked the Poire crêpe. It had pieces of pear in the center and was covered with chocolate ganache and whipped cream. We loved this crepe! The pear goes really well with the other flavors. They all balance each other to create a delicious crepe that’s sweet but not too sweet.
Speaking of which, if you have a sweet tooth, you might want add ice cream to it to make it even sweeter. It’s not that much more (just $2.95) to add ice cream (or sauce or whipped cream, although some of the crepes – like ours – already come with whipped cream).
Overall Impression
We had a fantastic time at La Creperie de Paris! It was fun to feel as if we’d entered into a charming crêperie in Paris. The soup and the sweet crepe were delicious, and our server was helpful and friendly. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for places to eat in Epcot, though we will personally pass on the galettes next time due to our own preference of not liking the buckwheat.
How to Save Money at La Crêperie de Paris
Unfortunately, unlike some of the other restaurants in Epcot (such as Space 220 and Tutto Italia), there is no annual passholder discount at La Crêperie de Paris.
However, another way you can save money is on your theme park tickets. And that’s good, because you’ll need both a park ticket and a park reservation for Epcot in order to dine at La Creperie de Paris. (Or, if you have a park hopper ticket, you can visit after 2:00 pm even without a park reservation, as long as you have visited another park first.)
