Excited about the new Universal park coming in 2025 to Orlando, Florida? Find out all the details in this guide to the Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort! Learn about the Epic Universe rides, hotels and more.
How close will Epic Universe be to Universal Studios?
Don’t worry – Epic Universe is pretty close to the rest of Universal Studios. For the other two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, you access the parks by walking through Universal CityWalk. For Epic Universe, however, you’ll drive directly to (or be dropped off by buses at) the theme park. It’s located just a few miles from the other parks.
Will Epic Universe have Harry Potter?
Yes, Epic Universe has an entire section dedicated to the Potterverse! At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, you’ll be immersed in the Ministry and international wizarding communities. This world encompasses 1920s Paris (from Fantastic Beasts) to the 1990s British Ministry (from the Harry Potter series).
What will Epic Universe include?
Epic Universe contains 5 different lands or worlds: 1 world when you enter the park, connected to the other 4 worlds.
What lands are confirmed in Epic Universe?
The 5 lands or worlds at Epic Universe are:
- Celestial Park
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
- How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk
- Dark Universe
What is Celestial Park Epic Universe?
Celestial Park is the first world you encounter when you enter Epic Universe. It’s sort of a hub to the other four worlds. So at Celestial Park, you’ll find four different portals, or entrances, to the other worlds at Epic Universe. (To me, it’s a little like Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, where you have the circular area in front of Cinderella Castle with pathways leading to the different lands at WDW.)
But Celestial Park is not just a way to get to the other worlds. It’s a world itself, with lots to see and do.
First of all, the creators really wanted to keep the park in theme park, so there are a lot of beautiful natural elements, like gardens and trees. Personally, I love this!
But more than just being visually stunning, you have shopping and dining options, as well as rides.
For example, at the Nintendo Super Star Store, you can shop for all sorts of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD merchandise. This includes apparel, toys, collectibles, jewelry, and other souvenirs.
What are the confirmed rides in Celestial Park?
In addition to the portals to the other worlds and the Nintendo Super Star Store, you’ll find attractions in Celestial Park.
Starfall Racers is a dual-launch coaster with a minimum height requirement of 48″ (122 cm). Travel on a comet along 5,000 feet of track, at heights up to 133 feet and speeds up to 62 miles per hour. This thrill ride was designed to feel like a smooth version of an old wooden coaster.
And at night, since there’s no external track lighting, the illuminated ride vehicles look like comets shooting across the sky!
Constellation Carousel is an elegant carousel with a modern, galactic twist. Guests feel as if they’re riding the constellations themselves, atop celestial lions, peacocks, dragons and more. Plus, the creatures turn 360 degrees and lift guests up 6 feet in the air, even as the carousel itself goes around. In perfect keeping with the theming, the ceiling of the ride is a Star Tracker with rotating star patterns.
Please note that while Constellation Carousel is a child friendly ride with no height requirement, guests under 48″ will need to ride with a Supervising Companion, and handheld infants are not allowed.
Should you want to cool off, you’ll definitely want to stop by Astronomica, an interactive water play attraction. Depending on the weather, you may not feel the need to get wet once the sun goes down – but you’ll certainly want to see the special light, music and color effects that turn on at night.
What is How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk?
How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk is a dragon-Viking utopia full of adventure that’s based on the popular movie franchise. The highly themed area is modeled after a eighth century Viking village.
What are the confirmed rides in How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk?
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a winged flying machine straight from Hiccup’s workshop. The minimum height for this coaster ride is 40″, and kids with a height less than 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.
What are some Epic Universe restaurants?
So far, we know the most information about Celestial Park at Epic Universe. And that includes some details about a couple of restaurants in Celestial Park.
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant is an excellent place to enjoy authentic and delicious Pan-Asian cuisine (featuring some of the best of Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine). You can also enjoy cocktails at The Tiger Bar, provided you are at least 21 years of age. And guests of all ages can marvel at the decor, which includes glowing lanterns and neon dragons.
Another memorable dining experience awaits at Atlantic, where you can savor steaks and seafood. And decorative fish in the ceiling, along with the glass walls, create the illusion of a huge Victorian aquarium. Guests who are 21 and over can also order cocktails at the Aquaria Bar.
What do we know about the other worlds at Epic Universe?
We’ve already talked about Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic.
Here’s what we know about the other three worlds.
Fans of Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Princess Peach will be excited to explore the colorful SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. This includes the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge attraction, which you may have already ridden at Universal Studios Hollywood or Universal Studios Japan.
And horror buffs won’t want to miss the mysterious Dark Universe, which offers chilling experiences with reimagined members of the the classic Universal Monster family.
Will Epic Universe have a hotel?
Epic Universe will actually have not one but three hotels!
Two of the hotels are actually sister hotels: Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort.
Stella Nova draws its inspiration from how infinite the vast universe is. The hotel represents its own galaxy, with a black hole vortex porte-cochère, and features teal and purple colors.
The theme of Terra Luna is how thrilling it is to push the limits of discovery. Its main colors are gold and green.
Both hotels have multiple food and drink options as well as 750 guest rooms. And thousands of dichroic panels, which appear to change color depending on the angle at which you look at them, decorate the exteriors of the hotels. This means that the outsides of the hotels constantly look different, depending on where you’re standing, the time of day, and the weather.
Stella Nova will open January 21, 2025, while Terra Luna is opening February 25, 2025.
And what about the third hotel?
For a truly upscale Universal vacation, guests can stay at Universal Helios Grand Hotel. The decor combines constellations and celestial patterns with a casual yet elegant Mediterranean feel. This hotel has an exclusive dedicated entrance into Celestial Park, which is sort of the main hub of all the worlds at Epic Universe. And Helios is within walking distance of Epic Universe, too!
Helios will open in 2025, but a specific opening date has not yet been announced.
How big is Universal Epic Universe?
It’s big! Epic Universe is built on 750 acres of land, which is an incredibly huge area. And as previously discussed, the theme park consists of five different and significant worlds.
How do I get Epic Universe tickets?
Epic Universe tickets have not yet gone on sale. In the meantime, if you’d like to visit the other parks at the Universal Orlando Resort (Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and the waterpark Volcano Bay), we recommend purchasing your Universal tickets here. Depending on the type of ticket you purchase, you could save up to $131 per ticket versus the adult price at the gate.
