Recently, I talked about the scary nighttime event, Howl-O-Scream, that is currently taking place at nighttime at SeaWorld San Antonio theme park. But you may be wondering if there is a daytime event that is not quite as scary. An event that would be more appropriate for younger children (and scaredy cats like myself).
Luckily, there is such an event. And that event is SeaWorld Spooktacular!
SeaWorld Spooktacular started last weekend, on September 15, 2022. It runs through Sunday, October 30, 2022. It takes place on weekends, from Thursday through Sundays, from 11:15 AM to 6:00 PM.
There are a lot of fun, kid-friendly activities at this event. I want to tell you about them. And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on your tickets!
Halloween is just not the same without trick-or-treating, don’t you think? And if you are looking for a safe place where your child can trick-or-treat during the daytime in San Antonio, then this is the perfect place. Guests who are twelve years old and younger can trick-or-treat at various locations throughout the Spooktacular area. You can buy a reusable SeaWorld Trick-or-Treating bag at shops located around Bay of Play.
In addition to trick-or-treating, your child will love wearing their Halloween costume at Spooktacular. All guests can wear costumes, though guests who are 13 years old and older can’t wear any masks or hoods. All costumes, though, are subject to the normal dress code for the park. And no one can wear face paint unless the face painting is done at SeaWorld during the event by park artists.
Sesame Street Halloween Parade
I really like the Sesame Street Halloween Parade at SeaWorld. It is upbeat, fun, and really gets you in the mood for Halloween. And as you might hope for a Sesame Street parade it’s not too scary for children.

Dia de los Muertos
Dia de los Muertos is a cultural experience celebrating a tradition that is very much loved by those in South Texas. The Dia de los Muertos section of Spooktacular honors this beloved holiday that remembers friends and family members who have passed. You can see sugar skull characters are Alebrijes (which are Mexican folk art sculptures of mythical creatures), hear traditional Mexican folk music, and more.
Spookley the Square Pumpkin Maze
Make your way through a fun pumpkin maze.
Sesame Street Photo Opportunities
What’s better than a photo opportunity with a Sesame Street character? How about a photo opportunity with a Sesame Street character who is wearing a Halloween costume? That is exactly what you can get at SeaWorld Spooktacular!
The popular live show Elmo Rocks! which sees the titular character make a rock band with his Sesame Street pals will be playing at Spooktacular.
A great thing about SeaWorld Spooktacular is that it is included in the cost of admission to SeaWorld. Another great thing about that is that there is currently a great sale on SeaWorld San Antonio tickets. Click here and you can save a lot of money on your ticket.
