Canadians across their country and around the world celebrate the pride they have in their history, culture and achievements on La Fete du Canada Day or Canada Day.  This occurs on July 1 and these celebrations have been held since 1868.

The main festivities of Canada Day will take place in the Old Port of Montreal, a district steeped in history.  It was by the St. Lawrence River that Paul Chomedey de Maisouneuve, the founder of Montreal, arrived in 1642.  The first French in the area settled nearby.  It is thanks to the port activities that this small settlement became the great international metropolis that Montreal is today.

Located near the Lachine Canal bike paths, several parks and promenades, the Old Port of Montreal is a magical place.  The Clock Tower Quay in the Old Port will be transformed into a huge block party.
