Kiwi Birdlife Park

Kiwi Birdlife Park in Queenstown, New Zealand is home to over 20 species of wildlife in the park’s five acres of native bush.  It makes a wonderful visit for kids and adults alike.  You’ll be amazed by these amazing creatures and you will learn a lot, too.

Activities

Kiwi Birdlife Park has great activities that help you get to see and learn more about these amazing birds.

Kiwi Encounter

You will learn so much at Kiwi Encounters!  Kiwi Birdlife Park’s team of wildlife keepers will educate you about these fascinating birds.  You’ll also get some of the best kiwi viewing in New Zealand in Kiwi Birdlife Park’s specially designed nocturnal houses.

Conservation Show

The park’s conservation show takes place in an outdoor theatre.  You get to see beautiful and amazing birds fly in.  You will learn a lot of facts about the birds.  And you’ll learn what threats they face in the wild.  It’s also an entertaining show.  So don’t be surprised if you and your family can’t stop laughing!

Self-Guided Audio Tour

You can walk around the Kiwi Birdlife Park on your own pace by taking a self-guided audio tour!  I really like audio tours because you learn a lot without having to wait for a tour to be available.  Plus, because they are self-guided, you can spend as little or as much time as you want at a specific place.  All the while learning a lot from the audio tour!

You can learn a lot about the birds from the audio recordings.  But you will also learn about the park itself.  The Kiwi Birdlife Park was founded by locals Dick & Noeleen Wilson back in 1986.  And you’ll learn about the family’s work from people who have been at the park since 1986 on the audio tour.

And if you have anyone in our party who doesn’t speak English, you’ll be happy to know the audio commentary is available not only in English but Chinese, Japanese, French, and German as well.
