In the early 1900s in eastern Cuba, musical rhythms, elements and styles were combined. That is the origin of salsa. Puerto Rican musicians in New York City rearranged and combined Cuban and Puerto Rican musical genres. Salsa grew in popularity after that and is still growing today with its fast pace and lively music.

The Salsa Festival will be a celebration of all things salsa. The festival is coming to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, in the greater Chicago area, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 8 pm.
