First there was the Jurassic Period. Then it was Jurassic Park. Then it was Jurassic World. And, now it’s Jurassic Quest. And, what, do you ask, is Jurassic Quest? It is the largest exhibition of life sized animatronic dinosaurs in North America. And it’s coming the the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds and Expo Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It’s going to be dino-mite!

Animatronic Dinosaurs

This is a self guided, immersive event. Take a prehistoric walk on the wild side among over 100 dinosaurs. You can walk through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic Periods at your own pace and learn about the dinosaurs in each period.

Each dinosaur has an animatronic frame over which layers of foam were placed. Motors inside the dinosaurs make them move. Each dinosaur was painstakingly made in collaboration with leading paleontologists. All the dinosaurs are incredibly realistic and are true in size and detail.

See the walking adolescent dinosaurs who like to run around and play with the guests. You can take photos and play with them. You’ll get to meet the baby dinosaurs, including Tyson the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Trixie the Triceratops and Cammie the Camarasaurus. They love to be carried around and to interact with guest. Pet and play with the baby dinosaurs.

Kids can see what it was like to ride on the back of one of these enormous creatures. The largest dinosaurs give stationary rides while the smaller dinosaurs give walking rides.

Other Activities

Kids can go down huge dinosaur slides to a unique bungee pull. Jurassic Quest has a “Triceratot” which is a soft play area for the little ones with dinosaur obstacle courses.
