A seance is a meeting, centered on a medium or seance master, to try to communicate with a spirit or spirits of the dead. Strong light is said to hinder communication so a seance usually takes place in subdued light or darkness.
Communication can take the form of a disembodied voice or a voice can speak through the medium. Sometimes objects appear to move by themselves or a hand, limb or body may take shape from ectoplasm (a viscous substance).
Seances generally involve small groups of 6 to 8 people. They form a circle and hold hands during the seance.
The Seance Experience gives you an authentic live re-creation of a Victorian Era Dark Seance just like it was performed in the 1800s when the Congress Plaza was built. It will use actual antique Seance artifacts from the 1800s.
