Greek immigrants in Chicago established St. George Greek Orthodox Church in the Lincoln Park area in 1923. Each spring, the Lincoln Park Greek Fest is held on the church grounds, bringing the tastes, sounds, aromas and traditions of Greece to Chicago. Come, enjoy delicious food, great music, dancing and a whole lot of fun! Be Greek for at least a day at this fun fest!
Greek Fest Schedule
- Friday, June 2 – 5 pm to 11 pm
- Saturday, June 3 – Noon to 11 pm
- Sunday, June 4 – Noon to 10 pm
There is no admission charge, but $10 is the suggested donation.
The entertainment at the Greek Fest is always a highlight of the weekend. You’ll hear traditional and contemporary music. Greek dancing is a very old tradition, being referred to by Plato and Aristotle in their writings. You’ll see circle dance and line dancing.

Greek cuisine some of the healthiest in the world and it’s also some of the most delicious! The food sold at the Greek Fest would be many people’s favorite part of the festival. Come hungry and try some of the dishes and you’ll understand why. And do not miss the baklava. It’s heavenly!

- Gyros Plate – Seasoned lamb and beef piled high on pita with onions, tomatoes and tzatziki
- Souvlaki Plate with tender pork shish kebob served with rice
- Pastitsio with Greek style lasagne with macaroni, ground beef and bechamel sauce
- Kota Sto Fourno – Greek Chicken – A ½ roasted chicken arinated with oregano and lemon served with rice
- Spanakopita – Spinach Pie – Phyllo pastry filled with spinach, dill and feta cheese, served with rice – Vegetarian
Desserts
- Baklava – Honey brushed phyllo stuffed with walnuts
- Loukoumades – Honey Puffs sprinkled with cinnamon
- Rizogalo – Traditional Greek rice pudding sprinkled with cinnamon
Beverages available for purchase include beer, wine by the glass or bottle, soft drinks, freshie organic tequila seltzer, water, Greek coffee, American coffee, tea, iced coffee and ouzo lemonade.
All proceeds from the sale of food and beverages will go to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
