When you arrive at The Lights Festival, you’ll receive a packet with a lantern and a marker. You can write what you wish on the lantern and decorate it any way you like. Once it is dark, everyone will release their lanterns into the night sky. You’ll get a spectacular view of thousands of lanterns lighting up the sky. It will be spectacular!
Many people come to The Lantern Festival to use their lantern as a way to honor lost loved ones. Other people will write on their lanterns their hopes and dreams for the future. Still others will use the lantern as a way to let go of a thing or things from their past. And many come just to see the breathtaking vision of the sky being lighted by thousands of lanterns.
The lanterns are safe and 100% biodegradable. They are made from rice paper that is fire resistant to prevent the flame from moving from the small fuel source in the middle of the lantern. This is a safe family friendly event.
The Lights Festival will begin at 5 pm. Come before it’s dark to decorate your lantern. Then you can enjoy live music and family friendly entertainment. Food trucks will be there with meals, snacks and beverages available for purchase.
To make your experience more comfortable, you can bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. In case you forget, there will be a merchandise tent at the festival.
