We’re about a week away from the 4th of July, so it’s time to start planning how we are going to spend this great holiday.  And if you are visiting San Antonio, then you are in luck.  Because there are a lot of fun celebrations going on throughout the city. Some take place on the Fourth of July.  Some take place around the Fourth of July.  I want to go over some of the best.

1. Armed Force River Parade

What’s a good 4th of July celebration without a parade?  San Antonio will be hosting a great Fourth of July Parade a few days before Independence Day, on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.  This parade features decorated parade floats carrying all branches of the United States Armed Forces.  Both active and retired members will be participating.  So come out and support our troops in the parade!

The parade starts at the International Center at 203 S. St. Mary’s Street and lasts about forty minutes.  You can find out more information here.

2. 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

Also, what is the Fourth of July without a great fireworks show?  There is a wonderful fireworks show going on at SeaWorld San Antonio.  It is a wonderful fireworks show set to a great musical score.

You can see this fireworks show if you have a ticket to SeaWorld San Antonio.  And so not only can you enjoy the fireworks show, but you can enjoy a fun day at the theme park.  And it just so happens that you can currently save up to 45% on tickets if you buy your ticket here.

3. The Official City of San Antonio Fourth of July Celebration

Another fireworks celebration going on in San Antonio is part of The Official City of San Antonio Fourth of July Celebration, brought to you by the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department.  It takes place from 11:00 AM through 9:30 PM at Woodlawn Lake Park.  Local food trucks and vendors will be there.  You’ll be able to get burgers, hot dogs, hot BBQ, tacos, aguas frescas, snow cones, and cold drinks.  There will also be carnival games and live performances from the United States Air Force Band of the West and DJ Plata.

You will need to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.  You can find lawn chairs here and blankets here and then order them online and pick them up the same day.

4. Lights of Liberty Fireworks

Can’t wait until the Fourth of July for fireworks?  Six Flags Fiesta theme park is having a Lights of Liberty Fireworks show on July 1, July 2nd, and July 3rd.  So if you say, go to Six Flags Fiesta on July 3rd and SeaWorld San Antonio on July 4th, you can have two fun days and see fireworks both nights!

And you can find out how to get a free Six Flags Fiesta Texas ticket here.

5. Fourth of July River Walk Artisan Show

Want to take home something unique from your trip to San Antonio?  Love shopping for unique art?  Then head to River Walk for the Fourth of July River Walk Artisan Show!  Over forty handmade artisan booths will be there.  You’ll be able to look for pottery, jewelry, paintings, woodwork, beadwork, textiles, and more.

This event takes place at the River Walk from June 30, 2023, through July 3, 2023.  On Friday and Saturday, it will last from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.  And then on Monday, it will last from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.  You can find out more information here.
