Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexican army over the much larger French army in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
Los Angeles’ Fiesta Broadway Festival is the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in the United States. Since 1995, it has been held on the last Sunday in April. This year that will be April 26, 2026, from 11 am to 6 pm.
The Festival takes place in Downtown Los Angeles and is held along Broadway and around the streets of City Hall. This event is expected to attract more than 300,000 attendees this year.
This massive street fair has 2 stages for entertainment. International, national, regional and local performers include Latin singers, bands and dancers.

Ferrari de la Mujer is a new experience at Fiesta Broadway. It celebrates the strength, talent and leadership of women in the community. It will create a welcoming space where women can connect, learn and be engaged.
Food vendors will be there with offerings of traditional Mexican and Latin American dishes. Prepare your taste buds for an explosion of authentic Latin flavors! You’ll find everything from tacos and empanadas to pupusas and ceviche. To wash it down, you’ll find cerveza, horchata, agua fresca or margaritas
This grand scale block party is free. It is a blow out of feasting, pinata breaking, music, food and drinks!
During the first week of May, there are many other smaller celebrations Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Restaurants and bars offer food and drink specials. Mariachi bands perform in clubs. And a lot of fun is had by all!
