If you’re like me, you love Halloween and you love the Los Angeles Lakers. Well, you can combine these passions with an upcoming event. And that event is the appropriately named Shaqtoberfest!
Shaqtoberfest takes place at Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, California. The Historic Queen Mary makes a fantastic backdrop for this event. It takes place on select nights from September 29, 2022, through October 31, 2022.
This is an event that is both family-friendly and scary for older kids and teens. The family-friendly parts take place during the day and the spooks come out at night.
We want to tell you about all the activities going on at Shaqtoberfest. And then we’ll tell you how you can save money on your tickets!
Midway Madness
Midway Madness is a street carnival, It has a Funhouse full of clowns, rides, games, and a nice variety of food. There’s also trick-or-treating during the day and an adult experience after 8:00 PM.
Diesel’s Pumpkin Patch
Shaq Diesel’s Pumpkin Patch offers families a traditional Halloween experience during the day. There are pumpkin sculptures, inflatable play zones, and lots of trick-or-treat stations.
This area becomes quite different at night, though, as a Shaq Diesel mix plays while it is accompanied by an over-the-top light show. This walk-through experience is a great mixture of Halloween and EDM.
Lost City Boardwalk
Lost City Boardwalk is an area where the residents have been stuck in the 1920s. It is located underneath the gangways alongside the Queen Mary.
Things are hunky-dory during the day. You can trick-or-treat right beside the larger-than-life characters or purchase a frozen treat at the waterfront Ice Cream Shaq.
But at night? Well, that’s when it’s said that the ghosts emerge from the boardwalk. So watch out!
Shipwreck Graveyard
The Shipwrecked Graveyard lies between the boardwalk and a nearby fishing village. It is shrouded in fog and eery echoes.
Of course, the eeriness and spookiness start at 8:00 PM. Before then, it is a family-friendly trick-or-treating spot.
Pirate’s Cove
Here’s a waterfront village where pirates, in their quests to find buried treasure, have invaded and taken over the area.
Here’s a fun thing about this area, though: there is a secret pirate lair! This lair, called “Captain Shaq’s Hideaway”, is a great place to get a shot of rum punch, toast your fellow pirates, and fire a cannon.
Deadman’s Wharf
At Deadman’s Wharf, guests can make their way through eerie bait shops and the tentacles of huge sea creatures who have made their way to land.
But don’t worry; during the day, the local lighthouse keeper and fisherman guard board the boathouse. So kids should be safe and can enjoy trick-or-treating here.
But this all changes at the witching hour…
