If you’re Irish and are looking for a great place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Virginia, I think you should consider going to Richmond.  They’ve got a lot going on that weekend and it sounds like a great time will be had by all!

Richmond St Patrick’s Day Festival

The annual Church Hill Irish Festival will run on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm.  A donation of $5 will be requested at the gate.

The Hill Topper 5K will take place from 9 am to 10 am.  The run will start at The Market at 25th Street.

The Irish Festival will have live entertainment.  You’ll see Irish dancers, Highland dancers and bagpipers.   Out of Uniform, a cover band with a bluegrass sound, will also be performing.

There will be a children’s play area which will have face painting, games and Irish themed crafts and more activities for kids.

Delicious food will be provided by St. Patrick’s Grill.  Try the great “Irish Surprise” with corned beef, cabbage and mashed potatoes.  There will be more Irish food as well as other cuisines.  And there will definitely be Irish beverages available for purchase.

There will be Guinness tastings with the Guinness Ambassador.

Merchandise, food, crafts and service vendors will be at the festival, making for a great shopping experience.  You can find some unique items there.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is on Sunday at 2 pm.  The parade will begin at Craig St. and 7th Avenue.  You’ll see colorful floats, Irish dancers, marching bands, horses, Highland dancers, tractors, bagpipers and lots and lots of green!
