We’ll tell you about a great bar crawl where you’ll learn about Richmond’s dark past and paranormal activity & then we’ll tell you how to save money on it.

Richmond, Virginia, is a city built on rebellion, secrets and conflict where Civil War soldiers and other lost souls still wander the streets at night.  Mix liquid courage with frightening tales in some of the city’s oldest bars.  From gruesome deaths in Civil War hospitals to the Red Light District scandals, you’ll hear it all on this bar crawl!

Shockhoe Bottom is one of Richmond’s oldest neighborhoods known for its restaurants and nightlife.  Walk the same streets as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Edgar Allan Poe did.  You’ll visit some of the sites where some of Richmond’s most horrifying history took place.

Your guide will be a professional storyteller with a deep knowledge of Richmond’s history and haunted sites.  Enjoy hearing authentic legends and thoroughly researched local history throughout the two hour tour.

You’ll visit Rosie Connelly’s Pub, a family owned Irish pub.  It’s in a YMCA Railroad building in the heart of the Red Light District.  You can get a drink there (own expense).  Your guide will tell you about the “ghostly helping hands” that may have helped prepare your libation.

You’ll visit JewFro, Richmond’s oldest commercial building.  So many businesses have failed in that building that many believe it is cursed.  Daniel Denoon was killed there in a murder/suicide and is believed to haunt the building.  Hear about the happenings for which no reasonable explanation exists.  Smith & Foundry in the building will be offering African wines for tastings.

You will see the Edgar Allan Poe Museum that honors Poe’s time in Richmond.  It is located in Richmond’s oldest standing structure.  Poe’s apparition has repeatedly been seen throughout the museum.

You’ll make a stop at Richbrau Brewing and learn about the origins of beer in America.  Then you can try a house beer, if you like.

You’ll also visit the Masons’ Hall, historic St. John’s Church and Pohlig Box Factory Apartments.  You will hear stories of murder, betrayal, lost love, Civil War ghosts, suicides and much more.  Your last stop will be Patrick Henry’s Pub & Grille where you can try Farmhouse Day Cider and see what colonists consumed every day.
