The animals at the San Antonio Zoo may go to sleep at night.  But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a great reason to visit the San Antonio Zoo at night.  And that reason is the San Antonio Zoo Lights.

Zoo Lights, powered by CPS Energy, are back at the San Antonio Zoo.  It will run from from November 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026.  And this year, the Christmas lights are bigger and brighter than ever.

One of these is The Enchanted Tree, a beautiful tree that is the centerpiece of the event.  Its trunk is wrapped in golden lights.

Another new feature this year of the event is Lights on the Lawn.  It takes place at the Great Lawn, where you find an LED Christmas tree surrounded by brilliant lights.  You’ll also find a DJ on select weekends and even some magical snowfall!

The other new feature this year is the Cathedral Tunnel.  You’ll find it near the Zoo entrance, along the Snake Pathway.  It is an archway covered in thousands of twinkling lights you can walk under.  It is fun to just walk through it, and it is also a wonderful photo opportunity.

There are returning favorites, too, like:

  • Lakeside Light Show, where lights synchronized to popular holiday music fill up the night sky
  • Starry Safari, where you see illuminated animals like bears and giraffes
  • Winter Wonderland, where you can see beautiful sea creatures made of holiday lights, like the light-up jellyfish
  • Fa-la-la-Flamingo, a glowing tunnel of flamingos and pink trees that puts a tropical spin on the Christmas season
  • Candy Lane, where trees are decorated with red and white swirls like candy canes and s’more pits are close by
  • Polar Point, where snowmen glow under blue lights
  • Santa Photos, where you can get a photo with the Big Guy himself in San Antonio Zoo’s Beastro Restaurant
  • Holiday Performance Pavilion, where you can enjoy music and meet-and-greets with the zoo’s mascots, Cowboy and Savanna
