I’ve been wanting to see the beautiful Christmas lights display at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a few years now.  This year, I was finally able to work it in my schedule.  And boy was I glad I went!  My whole family had a wonderful time.  It far exceeded my expectations (which were admittedly high!).  So, of course, we highly recommend this!  I’ll tell you all about it – and tell you we saved a lot of money on our visit!

Christmas Lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway

So during the holiday season, you can visit Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.  But instead of watching a race, you instead get to drive through the speedway yourself.  And the entire place is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights!

Having trouble picturing it?  Don’t worry; we will show you!  As usual, we took a video from our experience:

So as you can see, the holiday lights are gorgeous.  This year’s theme was Santa’s Safari, which you can see throughout the animals that are part of the light displays.

But that’s not all you can experience here.  It’s so much more than just lights! That’s why you should visit between Thursday and Sunday, you get access to everything, including Santa’s Village!  We visited last Sunday night and we show you a lot of the non-holiday lights experiences you can have:

Santa

You can get your picture (or your kid’s picture) with Santa at Santa’s Village!

Vendor Market

You can do a lot of great Christmas shopping here!  You can pick up a lot of great handmade, unique Christmas decorations.  There’s also a lot of items that would make for great Christmas presents.  Especially if you love North Carolina & South Carolina sports teams, like the Panthers, UNC Tarheels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson Tigers, etc.  And of course NASCAR!

Food & Drinks

There are a lot of delicious foods and drinks for sale inside Santa’s Village.  Some are holiday themed, and some are just delicious!  These include:

  • Funnel Cakes
  • Pizza
  • Chicken Tenders
  • Gyros
  • Hamburgers
  • Corndogs
  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Cotton Candy
  • Ribbon Fries
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Soda

Holiday Movies

You can enjoy a family-friendly, holiday-themed movie.  When we were there, it was Polar Express.  There are two different ways you can watch it.  You can come inside Santa’s Village and step in the “movie theater” there.  Or you can watch it from your car on the big screen by turning your radio to the right station to get the audio.  That can be a really neat drive-through experience.  You can even buy food from Santa’s Village to eat during the movie!

Rides

There are actually rides right outside Santa’s Village!  There’s a carousel, 100-foot slide, and 50-foot Ferris wheel.

Bethlehem Village

You can get in touch with the true spirit of Christmas here.  They have a great Nativity Scene with real live animals!

Festival of Trees

They have some beautiful Christmas trees on display in Santa’s Village.
