The heart of Atlanta’s holiday cheer is Centennial Olympic Park. The Georgia World Center Authority is presenting an International Winter Wonderland. The Park is now home to the Chinese Lantern Festival and Christkindl Atlanta.
The Chinese Lantern Festival’s theme is “Into The Wild.” Masterly crafted lanterns will depict over 25 different kinds of land and sea animals, including depictions of endangered species. The lanterns are breathtaking. Enjoy an evening of dazzling color.
Christkindl Atlanta has 80 charming Bavarian wooden chalets selling handcrafted products like ornaments, nutcrackers and toys. Learn more about German speaking countries through this 700 year old tradition of a German holiday market. Enjoy authentic bratwurst gluhwein beer and gourmet German street food. There will be daily entertainment on the stage in front of the Christmas tree.
Also located in Centennial Park is Skyview ferris wheel with 42 enclosed gondolas. It lifts passengers nearly 20 stories in the air, providing a birds eye view of downtown Atlanta.
