The Nutcracker: A Drive-In Experience
For many of us, The Nutcracker is part of our Christmas tradition. This musical story of Clara’s enchanted evening is a celebration of the sights and sounds of the holidays. The candy canes, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the magical Nutcracker.
This may be 2020, but where there is a will, there is a way, as my Grandfather loved to say. If you live in the greater Atlanta area, you can enjoy The Nutcracker in a drive-in experience. The Georgia Ballet presents this timeless holiday favorite at the Aviation History & Technology Center in Marietta, Georgia.
There are 120 parking spaces for The Nutcracker. Parking is on a first-come, first-serve arrangement. The music will be broadcast through an FM stereo frequency. You can listen to this on your car radio or portable radio. The frequency will be given to you before the performance.
Social distancing is required. You can bring lawn chairs, weather permitting. A face mask is required whenever you are outside of your car.
You are asked to come early to shop at The Nutcracker Christmas Shop sponsored by the GAB Guild. You can find great gifts for your loved ones there.
There is also a GAB Guild Concessions Store on-site where you can purchase delicious food and beverages.
Early birds will also have the opportunity to hear a live Question & Answer session with some of the performers.
There will be three performances, each beginning at 7:00 pm on December 11, 12, and 13, 2020. Parking will begin at 6:00 pm.
