A Motown Christmas features a great vocal group, assembled from past and present members of Motown’s most legendary groups: Ali Woodson’s Temptations, The Miracles, The Contours and The Dramatics. They include
- Charles Franklin: Former member of Ali Woodson’s Temptations.
- Leon Franklin: Former member of The Miracles and The Contours; currently performing with The Dramatics.
- Danny Friendly: Former member of The Edsels.
- Antonio Dandridge: Godson of Martha Reeves and Detroit area performer.
- Glen Raby: Musical Director and former Musical Director of The Contours, among other Motown groups.
This show will give you the Motown trademarks – unforgettable harmonies and dazzling choreography, all performed in that memorable Motown style.
The Temptations have had four Billboard Hot 100 Number 1 singles and 14 Billboard R&B Number 1 singles. Remember “My Girl,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do.” “Don’t Look Back,” “ My Baby,” “Get Ready” and “Since I Lost My Baby.”
The Miracles have charted over 50 Billboard hit singles between 1959 and 1976. This includes 26 Top Ten Billboard R&B Hits. Remember “Tears Of A Clown,” “Love Machine” and “Shop Around” – they all reached Number 1. The Contours had Motown’s first million seller and fastest rising hit of all time, “Do You Love Me.”
