My family loves to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season. We loved going to Mickey’s Very Merriest Christmas Party; this year we loved going to the Very Merriest After Hours Event. You can see a video from the Very Merriest Christmas Parade here.
We also love seeing the Christmas decorations at the four main theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios) as well as Disney Springs.
There are also beautiful Christmas decorations at the Disney World hotels. All of the hotels have decorations unique to their own theming.
And all the hotels have great decorations. But one of my favorite hotels to visit during the holiday season would have to be Disney’s Beach Club. You can see it for yourself in the video we took from a holiday stay at the Walt Disney World Resort we took a few weeks ago.
Disney’s Beach Club has such unique Christmas decorations. I am going to tell you about them. And then I will tell you how you can save money on a stay at the Beach Club so you can see the decorations for yourself!
Gingerbread Carousel
The whole lobby at the Beach Club is beautifully decorated. But the highlight of the lobby would have to be the gingerbread carousel!
It is a life-size, edible carousel. If you walk up to it, you might not even realize it is all edible because it looks just like a work of art. It reminds me of the kind of thing you might see on Holiday Wars on the Food Network. The Disney chefs who worked on this are clearly amazing artists.
Some of the ingredients they use include:
- Honey
- Rye flour
- Eggs
- Egg whites
- Syrup
- Confectioners sugar
- Dark chocolate
- Modeling chocolate
- Grand Marnier syrup
- and more!
How do I know this? Because they list the specific ingredients right in front of the carousel!
Gingerbread Carousel 2021 Theme: The Little Mermaid
A really neat thing about visiting the gingerbread carousels at the Beach Club are that they are different each year. So you could make it a holiday tradition to visit the Beach Club during the Christmas season and you’d see something different every time.
This year, the theme is The Little Mermaid. Each horse is dedicated to different characters from the movie.
There is a Sebastian and Flounder-themed horse.
Flounder is right in front of the horse, and Sebastian is sitting on top of the horse. He is holding his conductor stick and there is sheet music on the horse and seahorses blowing horns.
There is, of course, an Ariel horse.
There is a King Triton-themed horse.
The horse fittingly has red hair. And it has a great sea design.
You can see Atlantica and his trident on top of the horse. On the horse is a sweet picture of Ariel and King Triton.
Prince Eric has his own horse, too.
You can see his dog Max in a Santa hat and Christmas lights on the top of the horse. And there is a ship design on the horse, too.
And of course you couldn’t do a Little Mermaid carousel without Ursula, right?
The horse has purple incorporated into its color scheme, which is perfect for the Sea Witch. And of course you’ll find Flotsam and Jetsam nearby, too!
I really loved the whole carousel. It was both holiday-themed and then perfect for the classic animated Disney film. You could tell just how much time and attention went into making the carousel.
So I am glad they made a “nice list” to give credit where credit is due.
Beach Club Christmas Decorations
So the gingerbread carousel is definitely the highlight of the Christmas decorations at the Beach Club. But make sure you check out the whole resort.
Especially because they have some delicious holiday treats on sale!

So I know you would love to stay at the Beach Club during the holiday season. But you may think it is too expensive.
