Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian entertainment company that was first founded in the 1980s. It started as a performing troupe but evolved into a character-driven modern circus. It expanded in the 1990s and 2000s, growing from one production to shows in over three hundred cities on six continents. Now they are one of the largest contemporary circus producers in the world.
There are so many different themed Cirque du Soleil shows. So it was only natural that they eventually created a holiday show. They now have multiple holiday shows.
But the original holiday show they created was Twas the Night Before. It was conceived by Cirque du Soleil Senior Artistic Director James Hadley. He’s a 25-year veteran of live theater and circus productions.
Twas the Night Before is inspired by the classic Clement Clarke Moore poem, “A Visit from Saint Nicolas”. Their story involves a jaded young girl who rediscovers the magic and love of the holiday season.
This is the perfect show to take the whole family to. They have lovable characters and gorgeous holiday costumes. There is jaw-dropping acrobatics that will amaze adults and children alike.
It has a great soundtrack, too. It featured classic holiday songs that were re-invented by Cirque du Soleil.
‘TWAS the Night Before by Cirque du Soleil will be coming to The Hippodrome in Baltimore, Maryland from November 24, 2023, through December 3, 2023.
