The Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection is kind of the perfect hotel for anyone traveling to Washington D.C.  First of all, it is located within walking distance of so many things.  It is really close to the White House.  And there is a Big Bus Tour stop right outside the hotel that can get you anywhere that’s not within walking distance.  Plus, it’s got a lot of great American history, which you want in a Washington DC hotel.

So it should come as no surprise to you that when my family stayed here recently, we had a wonderful time.  As usual, we’ll tell you where to go for a good deal: click here.  And as usual, we took a video of the hotel so we could share it with you as you make your own travel plans:

Hopefully, this video will help you see how great the hotel is.  You’ll see the beautiful rooms, hallways and outside the ballrooms.  You’ll see the dining options.  But perhaps my favorite part of this video is the theming of each floor.  I think it’s really neat the way The Mayflower Hotel themes the floors.  It’s also completely in keeping with the fact the hotel has so much history.  But I think I am getting ahead of myself here.  You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about.

So each floor is themed to a decade.  Fittingly, the 9th floor is themed to the 90s.  The 8th floor is themed to the 80s.  The 7th floor is themed to the 70s, and so on.  And by themed, I don’t mean like Pop Century at Disney World hotel (which I really love, too, by the way).  I mean very subtle theming (in keeping with the hotel) in pictures up.  But the pictures are a really great, neat feature.  I stayed on the 9th floor and I loved seeing the pictures as I came back to my room or left my room.  And of course, it made me want to explore the rest of the hotel!
