Looking for discounts on Disney hotels?
One way to get a discount on a Walt Disney World hotel is to use discounted points.
Disney’s timeshare program, the Disney Vacation Club (DVC), uses a points system. DVC members use points to make reservations at Disney resorts (such as Walt Disney World hotels, Disneyland hotels, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort).
Even if you’re not a DVC member, you can take advantage of the points system to stay at Disney resorts at a lower rate!
You can “rent” points from DVC members – you pay them for the points and they make the reservation for you. You can do this either by contacting DVC members directly or by using a third party website.
Sometimes, the third party websites offer points at a discount, which makes the savings even greater.
One such sale is currently going on at the DVC Rental Store.
Right now, the points are on sale for $10/point. This rate means that, for example, a one night stay in a standard studio villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa for Friday, July 14th – Saturday, July 15th would cost $180. This is a great rate for a Disney deluxe resort (the highest category of Disney resort hotels)!
How do you know how many points are needed? You can use online calculators like this one on the DVC Rental Store’s website. Just scroll down until you see the calendar, click on the dates you want, and then check the chart to see how many points are needed! For this deal, you then take the number of points and multiply by $10 to see what the price would be. (You don’t need to add on anything for taxes.)

• Limited number of points available
• Limited number of dates/rooms available
• You can ask about availability without paying a deposit (not every site allows this)
When you’re ready to pay, you can pay online with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or Diners Club), or you can pay via ACH Bank Transfer. One of the travel advisors at the DVC Rental Store will give you instructions on how to pay, as well as answer any questions you might have about the process.
When you do pay, that’s it – you don’t have to book the room, as it will be booked for you. You will, however, receive a reservation confirmation number so that you can verify your reservation and use My Disney Experience (the system that allows for things like online check-in and FastPass+!).
So if you’re wanting to visit Walt Disney World in July and you’re looking for discounts on Disney hotels, consider renting discounted points and staying at Saratoga Springs Resort. But don’t delay – these discounted points are first come, first serve!
