Dollywood Reopening: 5 Tips

Have you been missing your favorite rides at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee?  Then I am sure you are glad the popular theme park is back open!

But if you haven’t been back yet, you should know that some things are different in light of the current pandemic.  This is so your family can still have a fun, safe time at the park.  And there are some things you are going to need to do before you arrive at the theme park that’s different from when you have visited in the past.  So read these tips before you go!

Tip #1: Get Your Ticket Ahead of Time

Daily capacity at Dollywood will be limited so that everyone can properly adhere to social distancing rules.  If you are a season passholder you will need to make a reservation before you go.  And if you don’t have a ticket yet, you should get your ticket as soon as possible so you can go to the park on the day you want.  You can buy a ticket for the day you want here.

Tip #2: Bring a Face Mask

You will need to have a face mask to enter into the park.  This is for all guests except for children ages 2 years old and younger.

If you or your kids don’t like wearing a face mask, the good news is that it is not required all the time.  There are specific times you won’t have to when you are:

  • Eating
  • Drinking
  • Taking photos
  • Swimming
  • Riding an attraction (like water slides and water rides) where you get wet
  • Showering or changing clothes in an approved water park facility
  • Sitting in a lounge chair or in a private, rented space (like the water park’s cabanas) as long as you can maintain 6 feet between other groups

And if your kid really hates wearing them, consider getting one with a neat theme or shows off their unique style.  Like if they love Disney, check out these Disney themed face masks.  You can get other themed face masks on Etsy.  And if you are looking for a cheap face mask, consider getting one from Walmart or Amazon.

Tip #3: Bring Travel Sized Hand Sanitizer

Dollywood is adding hand sanitizing stations throughout the park.  But if you really want to keep your family safe, consider buying travel-sized hand sanitizer.  This is small enough to easily put in a purse, diaper bag, etc.  And that way you can use it throughout the day without having to find the hand sanitizer stations.  You can get affordable travel-sized hand sanitizer here.

Tip #4: Get a Non-Contact Thermometer

Before you enter the park, there will be temperature screenings.  If your temperature is higher than 100.40 Fahrenheit, then you will not be allowed in the park.

So you might want to get a non-contact thermometer before you take your trip to the Smoky Mountains.  This way, there will be no surprises once you get to the park!  You can get one for a great price here.

Tip #5: Consider Staying at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa will be open.  And the resort trolley will operate.  So to make your trip more special, consider staying here.  And you can book the hotel at a discounted price by clicking here.
