It’s time to celebrate Latin music and culture at SeaWorld San Diego!

The popular San Diego theme park is once again holding its Viva La Música celebration.  It takes place on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from May 7, 2022, through May 22, 2022.

And it is going to be one great fiesta!  I want to tell you about all the fun special things happening at the park during this event.  And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on tickets to the event!

Viva La Música Concerts

As you would expect from something with the word “música” in the title, there is great music here.  There are different concerts throughout the festival held at Nautilus Amphitheater.

By the way, if you want to make sure you get a great seat for these concerts, you might want to buy reserved seating ahead of time.  Not only do you get a great seat, but you make sure you get a seat as the concerts can fill up to capacity.  You can get reserved seating here.

Anything For Salinas Band (Tribute to Selena)

Karol Posadas and her family have created a great tribute to the late, great queen of Tex-Mex, Selena Quintanilla.  Relive the magic of her music at these concerts.

Poncho Sanchez

Poncho Sanchez is a Latin Jazz icon (and Grammy Award winner!) who is known for his great music that blends multiple Latin American and South American sources.

Mariachi Divas

Mariachi Divas is an all-female, groundbreaking, two-time Grammy Award-winning musical group.  They sing a great variety of music ranging from American pop music to Mexican folk songs to traditional tunes.

The Outlaw Mariachi

MALO

MALO developed a unique style during the Latin Rock explosion of the early 1970s alongside Carlos Santana (fun fact: his brother Jorge was a founding member).  You can enjoy the Top 20 hit “Suavecito” and other great songs during this concert.

Corazón De Maná (Tribute to Maná)

Corazón de Maná is a tribute band honoring one of the biggest groups in Latin music history, Maná!

Viva La Música Zócalo Entertainment

In addition to the food and music, there is also another fun feature of the Viva La Música Festival.  There is also a festival area called Zócalo located at SkyTower Lawn.  Here you can find performances by community groups and local musicians.

DIABOLYK

DIABOLYK is a local Spanish rock band who draws inspiration from growing up in New Mexico.  Their original music blends rock, mariachi, ranchera, country, corrido, and rockabilly.

Manantial de Fuego

Manantial de Fuego (or MDF) is a local rock band fusing old and new Latin rhythms for a dynamic and powerful modern sound.

Ballet Folklorico TLANCTI

Ballet Folklorico TLANCTI is a great dance group that represents the culture of every region of each state of Mexico.  The dancers are from different places but share a common background of Mexican Roots.

Grupo Folklorico Herencia Mexicana

Grupo Folklorico Herencia Mexicana shares the history, culture, and traditions of Mexican folklore through dance and music.
