I truly believe that Pride Nights are so important to a community.  It is a chance for not only the 2SLGBTQ+ community to be celebrated and appreciated.  But it is a chance for allies as well to show support.

That’s why I’ve found it disappointing that the NHL banned themed pregame warm-up jerseys this year.  But luckily, if you root for the Edmonton Oilers, you don’t want to worry about your team turning their back on the 2SLGBTQ+ community.  After all, the Edmonton Oilers were one of the first teams to use the Pride tape.  Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid and other Oilers recently even used Pride tape in warmups when they played the New Jersey Devils when they were having their Pride Night.

And now it is time for Edmonton to host their own Pride Night!  The Edmonton Oilers Pride Night takes place on Thursday, January 18, 204.  The Oilers will be showing their support for diversity and inclusion as well as the Edmonton and Alberta 2SLGBTQ+ communities.

You can also show your support for both the 2SLGBTQ+ communities and Pride Nights in general by attending.  Let’s combat hate and exclusion with love and inclusion.

Plus, by attending, you should get to watch a great hockey game.  The Oilers will be playing the Seattle Kraken at 7:00 PM at the Rogers Centre.  You can find good prices for tickets for the game here.
