The Mid-Orange Correctional Facility has had an interesting, though unsettling, history. It was built in the 1930s as a reform school for boys. It held up to 400 teenage boys and remained in use until 1976.
It was then that people realized the rumors were true. That some of the boys who had died in the 40+ years had returned to the facility. People were touched when no one was there, doors were opened and closed and possessions were moved or hidden.
Mid-Orange was converted to a prison and held almost 1,000 inmates. This continued until it was closed in 2011. Many of the inmates had committed some of the most violent atrocities imaginable. Bangs, inaudible threats, shrieks, thudding feet and apparitions now occur.
In 2019, the facility was transformed into a professional training facility with a focus on soccer. Its new name is The Hudson Sports Complex.
The complex has a reputation as a hotspot for paranormal activity. Whether it’s the ghosts of the boys who grew up there or the convicts who died within its walls, something wants to be heard and seen and felt.
