You’ll meet your knowledgeable guide at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
Then you’ll pass by the Old Sorrel Weed House, one of Savannah’s most stunning and haunted houses. You’ll hear its dark history of infidelity and death. Your group will stop at Chocolat by Adam Turoni for some delicious treats. You’ll pass by Juliette Low’s birthplace.
You’ll also pass by the Historic City Market. You can spend a few minutes looking over the Market’s distinctive art offerings.
Your tour will stop at Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken. You can sample 3 Southern staples at one time. The Little Crown by Pie Society, is a meat pie eatery. Try their famous pork pie “prepared properly.”
Tondee’s Tavern was originally a bank and served as headquarters for a Union general in the Civil War. Today people go there for its gumbo which you can try.
You’ll pass by the African American Monument that’s meant to symbolize the new beginnings. You’ll see the Savannah Belle Ferry, a steamboat replica used for cruises by Savannah Riverboat Cruises.
You can take a few minutes to browse through River Street Market Place. Your tour will end at Savannah’s Candy Kitchen where you can try one of Georgia’s most famous sweets, the pecan praline.
You’ll get a new perspective on Southern cuisine as you sample your way through Savannah’s Historic District.
