Oxford Hop on Hop off Bus
Oxford is one of the loveliest cities in the United Kingdom. It is a city full of beauty, history, and culture. And it is home to Britain’s oldest university.
Visiting Oxford, England for the first time? There are a lot of great places I am sure you want to see and visit. So the question is, what is the best way to achieve this? And the answer is surely the City Sightseeing Hop-on, Hop-off Bus Tour!
This is a wonderful way to see the city. City Sightseeing has a double-decker bus, so you can get great, panoramic views at the top of the bus. You’ll be able to take wonderful photos and videos of the city’s beautiful buildings and courtyards.
You can also learn a lot about Oxford during your bus tour. Audio commentary is available in 12 different languages. You will learn about the historical and cultural significance of the buildings and landmarks you pass by.
Oxford Hop on Hop off Bus Tour Stops
And then there are the stops. It is, after all, a hop-on, hop-off bus tour. This means that it makes frequent stops. There are 20 total stops. These include:
- Railway Station
- Park End St
- Gloucester Green Bus Station
- New Road
- Westgate Shopping Centre
- Speedwell Street
- Christ Church
- Brasenose College

These are great stops. Did you know that many Harry Potter films’ scenes were taped at the Christ Church? For example, the scene where Hermione shows Harry the Quidditch trophy his father James Potter won was shot there. It was also used in Alice in Wonderland films. And the Christ Church is one of the stops.
Christ Church is one of the 39 colleges that make up the University of Oxford. You also get to see some of the other colleges that make up the University of Oxford. Trinity College, one of the stops, is known for its beautiful gardens.
If you love shopping, you get off at Westgate Shopping Centre. So there really is a lot for everyone here!
And the great thing about the hop-on, hop-off bus format is the freedom you have to make your visit anything you want. You can get off on a few stops, or quite a lot of stops. It is all up to you. And when you do get off at a stop, you can explore it on your timetable. When you are done, you simply go back to the bus stop and get back on. This gives it an advantage over a guided tour where you do not get to pick the itinerary.
