In 1868, two pairs of swans arrived at Lincoln Park. They were a gift from New York City’s Central Park and were the beginning of Chicago’s free zoo. As the zoo grew, it became one of the most popular attractions in Illinois and the only privately managed free zoo in the United States.
Ticketed events help keep Lincoln Park Zoo free and open to everyone 365 days a year. So support your zoo while sipping on a cocktail at the Margarita & Sangria Fest. This will be happening on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:30 pm to 10 pm.
This after hours event is only for the 21+ crowd. You’ll need to have a valid photo ID.

Lincoln Park Zoo’s customized animal exhibits are home to almost 200 species from around the world. Animals at the zoo always have a choice to be outdoors or indoors. Many of the animals may choose to spend their evening indoors. You’ll have access to their feeding schedule as this is the best time to view them.
