The House of Blues in Chicago will make your night memorable with great food and epic entertainment. And it’s a great place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
The House of Blues has gotten two fabulous Irish bands to entertain their guests. When the Gaelic Storm and the High Kings perform, you’ll hear both traditional and modern Irish sounds.
Gaelic Storm
Gaelic Storm is a multi-national Celtic force of nature that just grows stronger with every live performance. And that’s after two decades and over 2,000 shows.
The Gaelic Storm began their career as a pub band in Santa Monica, California. They appeared in the movie, “Titanic,” in the Irish party in Third Class. They played a jig, “Blarney Pilgrim,” “John Ryan’s Polka,” “Kesh Jig” and “Drowsy Maggie.”
They’ve topped the Billboard World Chart six times. Gaelic Storm has made appearances at mainstream music festivals and have headlined the largest Irish festivals in the U.S. They’ve gained critical acclaim as a genre blending Irish rock band whose songs mix tradition with unbounded creativity.
You’ll hear numbers from their latest album, “Go Climb A Tree,” including drinking songs, patriotic anthems, an instrumental and a raucous pirate song.
High Kings
High Kings is an Irish folk group. They became a group in Dublin in 2008. Finbarr Clancy, Darren Holden, Brian Dunphy and Paul O’Brien make up the group. Their album, “Friends For Life,” featured 8 original songs composed and written by the band, including “Oh Maggie” and “Ireland’s Shore.”
The High Kings have performed for hundreds of thousands of fans and for world leaders, including the Prime Minister of England in 2011, President Barack Obama in 2012, President George W. Bush in the White House in 2009 and the Pentagon in 2015.
High Kings have set the bar very high for Irish folk bands around the world.
Gaelic Storm and the High Kings will be appearing on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 6:30 pm and on Saturday, March 15, 2024, at 6:30 pm in two fantastic St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations.
