Did you know that Kansas City has a great theme park? Worlds of Fun is a wonderful amusement park that’s great for all ages. But what if you are visiting in the colder months? Is there any kind of amusement park and water park available? And the answer is (luckily) yes!
Coco Key is a great indoor waterpark. Yes, indoor waterpark, so it is always 84 degrees there. So this is a really great place to go in the wintertime! There are a lot of fun activities for all ages here. There’s a water playground for the youngest guests. Older kids can enjoy wilder slides and rides. And you will enjoy relaxing on the lazy river!

Great Wolf Lodge
Another great indoor waterpark in Kansas City is the Great Wolf Lodge. It is also a hotel and would be a great hotel for your trip; book it for a great rate here. But even if you don’t stay at Great Wolf Lodge, you can still enjoy their waterpark. And Great Wolf Lodge is so much more than a waterpark. They have a Northern Lights Arcade, MagiQuest, Compass Quest, and Howl at the Moon Mini Golf.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark
If you are in Kansas City during the warmer months, though, and want another water park option, then check out Schlitterbahn Waterpark. It is outdoors and has a lot of fun water activities. LEGOLAND Discovery Center
LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a lot of fun for children. There are great LEGO building activities and opportunities to meet popular LEGO characters. They even have rides and a 4D movie experience! I have always thought an aquarium was a great place for a family to go because a love of sea animals is not limited to any one age group. We can all get fascinated by what you’ll see at Sea Life! There are hundreds of different species here. You can see a Giant Pacific Octopus at Sea Life. There are also seahorses, clownfish, starfish, stingrays, and even sharks! Alamo Drafthouse
Alamo Drafthouse has a lot of great family movies and family movie events. You can check it out here. They have affordable family movies with cheap tickets. You can also watch PBS shows on the big screen here.
But perhaps my favorite thing Alamo Drafthouse offers is the Alamo for All program. It is great for families with young kids or children with special needs. All movies before 4:00 PM on Tuesday adhere to the Alamo for All program. This means you get:
