Is there a more iconic show or performance during the holiday season than The Nutcracker? It is a tradition for so many of us to go to this popular Christmas-themed ballet during the holiday season. Enjoy the great music, Christmas decorations, and of course dancing when you watch Batch Quad Cities perform this iconic ballet.

Celtic Angels Christmas is a holiday show that adults and children can enjoy. You can enjoy listening to impressive live seasonal and Irish music. And there are great, world-champion caliber Irish dance routines performed by the Celtic Knight Dancers. You’ll feel as though you are celebrating Christmas in Ireland!

Martina McBride: The Joy of Christmas
You can hear great Christmas music in this show, too. But instead of Irish music, you’ll hear great country music performed by Country music legend Martina McBride! She’s been nominated for multiple Grammy awards, won Female Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association four times, had six #1 hits, has 14 gold records…seriously do I need to keep telling you how great of a career she has? And now your whole family enjoy her singing holiday music.

Christmas With Jim McDonough And His Orchestra
Here’s another show with some wonderful Christmas music. Seriously, those of you in Cedar Rapids are in for a treat this holiday season with all the great live holiday music!
This show features Jim McDonough, an International Steinway Artist, and his 14-piece professional orchestra. They play popular Christmas songs as well as other all-time favorites. All of the music is accompanied by great visual effects, which adds to the fun of the show.

Old World Christmas Market
Ever wanted to enjoy the fun and magic of a European Christmas market? Well you can do that at the Old World Christmas Market, which combines the feel of a European Christmas market with midwest flavor! There are handcrafted items and delicious treats for sale. There is also additional entertainment and activities for guests of all ages. This is a free event and a great way to kick off the holiday season. It takes place the first weekend in December on December 3rd & 4th 2022. You can find out more information here.
Festival of Trees
The popular holiday tradition Festival of Trees is back in Cedar Rapids! It takes place on Saturday, November 19th, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM and Sunday, November 20th, 2022, starting at 4:00 PM. It takes place at the Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center.
The Festival of Trees is one of the most popular holiday events in Eastern Iowa, and for good reason. There are holiday entertainment and vendor booths. And as the title of the event would imply, there are beautifully decorated Christmas trees on display. This is an affordable event, too, with admission just $5 for adults. It is free for children ages 17 years old and younger, too, as long as you donate a non-perishable food donation.

Holiday Night with Santa and Mrs. Claus
I am here to tell you that Santa and Mrs. Claus are hockey fans and of course, they root for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders!
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders junior ice hockey team has a great special event this December. Its their Holiday Night with Santa and Mrs. Claus! It takes place when the RoughRiders play the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The special holiday hockey game takes place on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 7:05 PM at ImOn Ice Arena.
