Chicago Pride Month Events 2022 Guide

June may be halfway over, but Pride Month is just getting started in Chicago, Illinois.  There are a lot of great pride events happening over the next few weeks in Chicago that we want to tell you about.  We even know of some great coupons you can use to save money on some of these events.

Chicago Pride Fest

Chicago Pride Fest is back!  It takes place this weekend and it is a two-day event, from June 18th through June 19th.

It celebrates equality and diversity.  And it celebrates the Chicago LGBTQ+ community on Halsted Street.  This was America’s first recognized gay village.

So what can you expect at the Chicago Pride Fest?  You can expect:

  • Drag shows
  • Pet parade

The event is free, but it would be great if you made a donation.  Donations help pay performers and festival workers.  They also fund community programs.  For example, generous public donations in the past paid for the Chicago Pride Crosswalks.  These are fourteen rainbow paved intersections that were installed in 2019.  They make up the longest installation of it’s kind in the world.

Planets of Pride: A Nerdy, Sexy, Pride Variety Show

Enjoy dance, drag, stand-up comedy, and more at Planets of Pride: A Nerdy, Sexy, Pride Variety Show.  This takes place at the Otherworld Theatre Performance Venue and Bar.

This takes place on Saturday, Jun 18, 2022, and again on Saturday, Jun 25, 2022, both times at 9:00 PM.

Lincoln Park Zoo’s Adults Night OUT: Pride Party

Ever been to the Lincoln Park Zoo after hours?  You don’t have to deal with crowds or kids.  You can just have fun there.  Oh, and there’s a live DJ, Drag Queen Bingo, animal chats, and more.

This event takes place on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

Chicago White Sox Pride Night

Chicago White Sox Pride Night takes place this year on Thursday, June 23, 2022 during their baseball game at Guaranteed Rate Field at 7:10 PM.  You can read more about it, including how to get a free T-Shirt at the game, here.

50 Shades of Gay

Enjoy the seventh anniversary of 50 Shades of Gay.  It’s a great show starring Ike Avelli and other fabulous guests.  You can expect drag, music, comedy, video sketches, audience participation, and giveaways.

It takes place on Thursday, Jun 23, 2022, Friday, Jun 24, 2022, and Saturday, Jun 25, 2022, all at 6:00 PM.

Pride in the Park

Pride in the Park is an annual outdoor music festival held in Grant Park.  It features LGBTQ+ performers, artists, vendors, and more.

Chicago Pride Parade

The 51st annual Chicago Pride Parade takes place in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood.  It starts at noon on Sunday, June 26, 2022.  It typically takes place in the last weekend in June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots.

The parade starts at Montrose Avenue and Broadway in Uptown Chicago.  After going through the north side of Chicago, it ends near the intersection of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.

Chicago Cubs Pride Night

The Chicago Cubs Pride Night takes place at Wrigley Field on Wednesday, June 29, during the Cubs & Cincinnati Reds game.

Chicago Fire FC Pride Night

Chicago Fire FC’s Pride Night takes place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.  It takes place during the Chicago Fire FC’s match against the Philadelphia Union.  5,000 Pride Beach Towels will be given away to fans during the event.  You can get a discounted ticket for the soccer match here.
